Natural Arthritis Treatment - Natural Relief for Joint Pain

There are many natural ways to relieve all those aches and pains, many of us suffer as middle age approaches. It's not such a good idea to use pain relief tablets, or injections, on a regular basis.

It is very easy to build up resistance, and long term use can affect other organs and even cause constipation. Natural relief for joint pain has to be the solution for most people. Especially on a long term basis. If you believe you are overweight, this will not help the problem. Loosing a few pounds can definitely help your overall well being and reduce stress to the joints. Taking up regular exercise makes the joint muscles stronger and aids mobility. Swimming is the best, as it does not stress the joints, simply strengthens them. Even suitable for those with most forms of arthritis. Avoid heavy exercising which puts too much stress on the joints. Applying a hot the cold compress is also a good, natural way to relieve painful joints, especially before and after any exercise.

Although painkillers are not good for the body, on a long term basis, sometimes, they are a necessity. A solution if the pain can not be relieved in any other way. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory, more suited for joint and muscle, aches and pains. Sometimes, a couple of Ibuprofen and a hot bath is enough! Turmeric and ginger are also good, natural, anti inflammatory herbs. Massage, not only is it relaxing, it can be a great solution for joint pain. A gentle massage, using oil, in the problem area can give thankful relief. There are Ayurvedic and herbal oils available, specifically to relieve painful joints and help strengthen muscle tissues. Warm cider vinegar is also an age old, traditional, 'rub in' remedy.

Curiously, Glucosamine was first used by vets to treat dogs with arthritis. It is a naturally occurring 'amino sugar', found in cartilage. Responsible for stimulating new growth of the connective tissues in the joints. Including the tendons, and ligaments. Some of the worlds top athletes now use Glucosamine to help relieve joint pain and prevent damage. It is easily available in supplement form, and has a whole host of other benefits too. Also used to treat Osteo Artritis and Rheumatoid arthritis, two of the most common forms of arthritis today. There have been many studies into Glucosamine, using placebo's. the placebo's did not improve, the group receiving Glucosamine showed significant improvement. Glucosamine has been tested over three years, by two separate studies, and is now considered capable of repairing damage caused by Osteo Arthritis, to the joints. It can not replace or repair the actual cartilage, but it can prevent further damage and reduce inflammation. Therefore a good, proven, natural relief for joint pain.
